StepWare, Inc. Announces AceReader Pro for Windows Vista
GRAND JUNCTION, Colorado - June 11, 2007 - StepWare, Inc. today announced that it released AceReader Pro, AceReader Pro Deluxe, and AceReader Pro Deluxe Plus, which are "Certified For" Windows Vista. AceReader Pro teaches students, business executives, and readers of all ages to read faster.
"The program enhances reading speed and comprehension by training the eyes to properly scan electronic pages," said Bernie Marasco, President of StepWare. "As a result, people read faster, on and off the computer. By working with Microsoft, we feel confident that AceReader Pro will provide users of Windows Vista with enhanced reliability, security and compatibility."
"Products that carry the Certified for Windows Vista logo have met explicit standards of reliability and quality, and have been tested and proven to deliver a superior experience with Windows Vista," said Brad Goldberg, General Manager for Windows Vista Product Management at Microsoft Corp. "We are extremely pleased that StepWare's AceReader Pro carries the certified logo and takes advantage of the new technologies available in Windows Vista."
AceReader Pro teaches you how to break bad reading habits, such as subvocalization (pronouncing the words in your mind as you read), and regression (reading words or passages more than once). It also helps you expand your eye fixation zone (or eye span) so you can read multiple words or lines at a time.
AceReader Pro's text-to-speech add-on expands the usefulness of the software beyond its mainstream audience of grades 4 through adult. By pacing eye movement and reading words aloud, the program also helps kids in grades 1 through 3 learn to read. ESL and foreign language students can now hear the words as the text is flashed on the screen. Business people and other online readers can save time and increase productivity by having their computer read aloud their email and news. AceReader Pro uses AT&T's Natural Voices technology, which employs the highest-quality human sounding voices available.
The AceReader Pro series of products is available for PCs running Windows 95/98/Me/NT4/2000/XP/2003/Vista, and Macintosh computers running OS 9.2.2 - OS X. AceReader Pro has a starting price of $49.95(US), with teacher, student and quantity discounts available. You can securely purchase AceReader Pro online at http://www.acereader.com/, or download a free trial version from the same address.

StepWare has released Version 2.0 of AceReader Pro Series of Products.
Once again, StepWare has met customer demands by adding new features and product enhancements to its family of speed reading and reading improvement software.
New features include: (1) A new Startup Wizard screen that makes the product easier and more intuitive to use, (2) The ability to create and group custom content (Comprehension Tests, Drills...) into separate sets. These sets can now be imported and exported, allowing the AceReader community to share custom content. (3) Two Eye-Fixation Games that are designed to improve reading skills while having fun. (4) Smarter Drills that now set pacing speeds relative to individual reading levels. (5) Two new Drill Sets to choose from that push reading speed to double and triple the reader's personal base reading speed.
AceReader Pro is three tools in one: (1) A Reading Assessment Tool to determine and track your reading level. It includes reading comprehension tests for grades 1-12 plus adult, and test scores are logged and graphed for accountability. (2) A Reading Improvement Training Tool to help improve your online and offline reading speed while maintaining even better comprehension. AceReader Pro teaches you to increase your eye fixation span and helps break common bad reading habits such as subvocalization (pronouncing the words in your mind while you read) and re-reading (letting your eyes wander back to re-read text you previously read). (3) An Online Reader to help you read more efficiently while online. With the Online Reader you can rapidly read and skim text from Web pages and other sources in RSVP mode. In RSVP mode the words come to your eyes instead of your eyes going to the words.
AceReader Pro utilizes Tachistoscope Technology to pace your reading speed and is designed for all ages (grades 1-12 plus adult). AceReader Pro is feature packed and is very customizable. You can train with the Comprehension Tests and Drills that come with the product or create your own custom content. Custom content can be created with the built-in Comprehension Test and Drill Editors. The Editors even come complete with a Readability Analysis Tool to help determine the grade level of the text.
Three versions of AceReader Pro are available: (1) AceReader Pro, (2) AceReader Pro Deluxe and (3) AceReader Pro Deluxe Network. The Deluxe version is recommended if you want the Test Editor, the Readability Statistics, or if more than one person will be training on the product in a non-networked environment. The Deluxe Network version is recommended for networked, reading lab and school environments and includes central administration.
